Leen has worked with companies & startups in the B2C and B2B SaaS software space for more than 14 years. She co-founded multiple startups, launched an NGO and was part of two exits (Tech.eu was bought by Webrazzi; Kaltura exited via an IPO). Today, she's an entrepreneur turned investor working with ForsVC, an 18 million VC fund based in Belgium focused on gaming studios and game tech (including the metaverse economy). After working with Accenture Belgium, she set up the Marketing & Business Development department for the Belgian startup Netlog in 2007 (81 million registered members, backed by Index Ventures & Atomico). In 2011, she moved to London and went from evangelising Social Media to Online Video targeting media & entertainment companies in the UK and EMEA. She first worked with the open-source video SaaS platform Kaltura (short-form video), followed by Saffron Digital (TV series & movies). In 2014, she returned to Brussels to co-found & lead the new tech publication, tech.eu, as a COO and turned the publication profitable in the first year there. In April 2016, she was introduced to VR and co-founded LucidWeb. During those 4 years, she ase raised 1M$/850,000€ in funding (public/private) to service premium clients with unique WebXR solutions, as well as to roll out the self-serving platform LucidWeb Pro in October 2020. The solution was used by international film festivals across the globe such as SXSW, Geneva International Film Festival, Lichter Film Festival Frankfurt, as well as MIT (USA). She also co-founded the NGO Women in Immersive Tech Europe in 2018, counting more than 6,000 members today, and operational via a unique team of 16 country ambassadors across Europe.
